The Koku™ Cutting Board System

Inventor: Joe Casale

Most inventors aren’t professional inventors. In fact, most inventors are just ordinary people who have extraordinary ideas. Joe Casale is an Industrial Designer and makes a living helping to design other people’s dreams. That is until he was cutting up vegetables on his kitchen counter and decided there has to be a better way to cut, measure and distribute veggies and other food items. So he put his pen to the paper and designed what he called “The Complete Cutting Board.” His concept was much more than just a cutting board, it was a cutting surface secured on top of a rectangular bin with two separate compartments on either side. Joe thought the compartments could be used to measure, distribute and dispose of whatever the cook was cutting up. Joe’s idea was one the Everyday Edisons team couldn’t wait to sink their creative teeth into.
